Exile Island 2016

Date : Friday, September 16, 2016

What Is Exile Island?

Modeled after the television show "Survivor", Exile Island is an annual event that challenges local businesses to gather their tribes and take part in an action-packed afternoon, all in a united effort to grant heartfelt wishes. It is one of the most unique fundraising events created and organized by the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.

Tribes made up of a “Kahuna” and five “Castaways”, are tasked with raising a minimum of $5,000 to help grant a child’s wish. Fundraising takes place in the months leading up to event day.

Prince Edward Island's 6th annual Exile Island event will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 where tribes will be exiled for the day and take part in a variety of mental and physical challenges to determine which team is the Ultimate Survivor.  This team building event is fun, interactive, encourages friendly competition and helps grant wishes to some very deserving children.

Why Participate?

Children’s Wish is dedicated to providing a once-in-a-lifetime experience to children between the ages of 3 and 17 who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.  Established in 1984 in Ontario, Children’s Wish has grown to a national organization with chapters in every province.

We have granted close to 25,000 wishes for children and their families and with the help of our donors, have fulfill more than 1,000 wishes annually. Each wish is an individual adventure, structured to meet the needs of each particular child.

The demands placed on granting these wishes continue to escalate.  Issues related to the increasing sophistication of requests, associated costs that continue to rise and the growing number of referrals, challenge Children’s Wish supporters to keep pace.

Your efforts will ensure that the children and families we serve enjoy the magic of a wish. Be a part of this unique experience and take pride in your efforts, knowing that your contribution will have a profoundly positive impact in the life of a child.

“We truly enjoyed this event! When it comes to The Children’s Wish Foundation, our organization is always there wanting to support this very worthwhile cause. It was a fun-filled day of activities focusing on teamwork and cooperation that, in my opinion, is a great exercise for any organization.  It was amazing how much, we as a team, learned about each other and how it has helped us in our everyday working experience." ~ Jeanette Wakelin - Credit Union Crusaders Tribe

"I can't stop talking about this event. The organization put into this day is beyond words. And to meet all of those special children and their families is so heartwarming. From the good laughs to the tears, it was amazing day that will be kept in my memory box forever!!! ~ Denise, Credit Union Crusaders Tribe

"I enjoyed my day so very much. I was mentally, emotionally and physically exhausted but my heart never felt so full. Thank you again for the day!" ~ Ambyr, Credit Union Crusaders Tribe

"Best day of the year besides Christmas wtih my family! Spending an hour with these amazing kids gives me a feeling I can't describe. It refuels me for the upcoming year to continue working to grant wishes. There is no other feeling like it! These kids are my heroes!" ~ Michelle Gallant - Summerside Wishmaker Tribe

"There is nothing that pulls at your heart strings more than a sick child. I always leave these events with a renewed lease on life. We sometimes take life forgranted and these children bring me back to reality. They are the main participants in these events."  ~ Charles Duffy - The Big Kahunas Tribe(Kenmac Energy)

If you haven’t experienced Exile Island, we strongly encourage your company to try it.  It is a wonderful day of fun and enjoyment, provides funding for a worthwhile cause and  provides benefits for building a stronger team within your organization.
